God is about to do something new.— Isaiah 43:19
Wow. I cannot believe it is already 2020 and we are stepping into not only a new year, but a new decade. The beginning of the year is always fun and refreshing because we have the mindset “new year, new me.” We make tons of goals and resolutions and for some it is finally an excuse for us to begin evolving into a better version of ourselves. Unfortunately, as the month goes by, we start slacking on our goals and for some, we even give up on them until the next year rolls around. Can I let you in on a secret? With God, EVERY morning is like the New Year. No matter how many times I have broken a promise to God, failed to control my temper around loved ones, or just completely made the wrong decision, His grace has picked me up every. single. time. and He has made me a new creation through Him. We serve a God so loving and merciful that offers us NEW life every time we ask for it. His grace never runs out and for that I am so so grateful. But, here’s another secret – we serve a God that does ABUNDANTLY and EXCEEDINGLY more than we could ever imagine and He doesn’t just offer us a clean slate, He gives us joy, peace, and purpose (among many other things). Today I want us to focus on how much God values and cherishes us at our highs and even at our lows. “Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.” This scripture has become one that I cling to and cherish, because the same God who created the roaring oceans and the starry night sky decided that His creation wasn’t complete without me and it wasn’t complete without you. God created you for TODAY. He has placed desires in your heart, interests, and gifts/talents unique to you and he has given you a calling and a purpose that was selected just for you. Yes, YOU. Heaven rejoiced the day you were born, because God was planning your life and the exact TIME he needed you here long before you were in your mother’s womb. Whatever it is that God has placed on your heart, this is your time! God not only deems you worthy and treasures YOU, but He has a great plan for your life as well. It doesn’t matter what your past looks like or even if you fell short yesterday, God is always looking forward and to the future. Sometimes God’s love and why He chose me for certain things is a mystery, but it is a BEAUTIFUL mystery. I pray that today you just soak in all that God has done for you and through you and that you feel cherished, chosen, and valued. God is just getting started with you this year and He has an amazing journey mapped out exclusively for you. I am so excited to see how God transforms His daughters this year!
